Earthquake Memories - Erica Valk - Kawerau College

Our class had just arrived for our final class of the day.  We were in the Sewing Room.  I had just sat down on my stool and was talking to another classmate when I was thrown backwards onto the floor of the classroom.  The teacher then came into the room and told us all to get under the tables and to stay there as we were having an earthquake.  We stayed under the tables until the classroom stopped shaking (about 5 mins but it felt a lot longer).  I then biked home from school and went up the hill opposite our place because there was a suspected chlorine leak.  We stayed up there for about 2 hours till it was safe to come back down.
